  22. DDEESSCCRRIIPPTTIIOONN
  23.      This program assigns a symbolic name to all files controlled
  24.      by  RCS  in the current directory.  If the "--rr_r_e_v" option is
  25.      given, it checks  in  each  file   as  revision  _r_e_v  before
  26.      assigning  the  symbolic name. No files in the directory may
  27.      be checked out at the time rrccssssnnaappsshhoott is run.

  29.      As an example, consider a directory with three files:

  34.           file3          2.2
  35.      If the command rrccssssnnaappsshhoott --rr33..00 wwiinntteerr8899  is  issued,  then
  36.      all  three  files  will have RCS version number 3.0, and may
  37.      also be referenced  in  the  future  by  the  symbolic  name
  38.      _w_i_n_t_e_r_8_9.
